The difference between the brushless motor and the carbon brush motor:

1. Scope of application

Brushless motor: It is usually used in equipment with high control requirements and high speed, such as aircraft model, precision instrumentation, etc., which strictly control the motor speed and achieve high speed.

Carbon brush motor: Usually the power equipment uses brush motor, such as hair dryer, factory motor, household range hood, etc., and the speed of the series motor can also be very high, but due to the wear of the carbon brush, use The life is not as good as the brushless motor.

2. Service life

Brushless motors: The typical service life is on the order of tens of thousands of hours, but the life of the brushless motors varies greatly depending on the bearing.

Carbon brush motor: Generally, the brush motor has a continuous working life of several hundred to more than one thousand hours. When the limit is reached, the carbon brush needs to be replaced, otherwise the bearing wear is easily caused.

3. Use effect

Brushless motor: usually digital frequency conversion control, strong controllability, from a few turns per minute to tens of thousands of revolutions per minute can be easily achieved.

Carbon brush motor: Brushless motor generally has a constant working speed after starting. The speed regulation is not very easy. The series motor can reach 20000 rpm, but the service life will be shorter.

4. Energy-saving aspects: Relatively speaking, the brushless motor is controlled by frequency conversion technology, which is much more energy-efficient than the series-excited motor. The most typical ones are inverter air conditioners and refrigerators.

5. In the future maintenance, the carbon brush motor needs to replace the carbon brush. If the replacement is not timely, the motor will be damaged. The brushless motor has a long service life, usually 10 times or more of the brush motor, but it needs to be replaced if it is broken. Motor, but basic maintenance is basically not required.

6. The noise aspect has nothing to do with whether it is a brush motor, mainly depends on the cooperation of the bearing and the click internal components.

7. Brush motor means that the motor is a DC input. The controller that controls it can only adjust the speed by supplying the current. The brushless motor is actually a three-phase AC motor. The controller converts the DC power into three phases. AC power, and commutating according to the sensor Hall element in the motor to make the motor run normally. Directly speaking, a brushless motor has a longer life than a brushed motor, and it has a strong power to start, but the controller is more expensive than a brushed controller.

At present, all of them are brushless controllers, and the brush has been basically eliminated.
